Feds approve two huge telecom mergers

Federal antitrust regulators approved the multibillion-dollar mergers of SBC Communications Inc. with AT&T ($16 billion) and Verizon Communications Inc. with MCI Inc. ($8.5 billion).
SBC will change its name to the iconic AT&T and Verizon will keeps its name.
